Chicago

Architecture, Buildings, Business

Did you know that Chicago is the home of the only Black daily newspaper in the nation? Well it is. It is also home to one of the largest Black populations in the United states. This means that there should be several options for you when it comes to find the man or woman of your dreams.

A good boost to the dating scene is the military presence that is in Chicago. A great first date idea would be to hang out on the Navy pier. Don’t forget about all the great food that you can have in Chicago. In addition to food you can also take advantage of the sporting events, ballet, opera, concerts, and entertainment that the city has to offer.

Washington D.C

Jefferson Memorial, Washington Dc, C

How could chocolate city not be on the list for cities that are great locations for vacations for Black women. It is chocolate city for a reason. Not only is there a large population of Black men and women but a good portion of these individuals are professionals.

Lots of professional Black women say that they have difficulty finding other individuals that are like them. By this I mean a combination of racial, educational, and professional background. You never know, D.C could be the location of your new doctor/ lawyer/politician boo.

Houston

Atlanta, Georgia, City, Cities

Not only has Houston given the world Beyonce but it also happens to be one of the most diverse cities in the entire country. They boast about their large Asian, Hispanic, and Black populations. One of the biggest perks of Houston is that it is a fairly young city. The median age for Houston is 30, which means that you can find people who are hopefully mature and stable.

There isn’t much that Houston can’t offer you. If you are looking for great food then you can find it in Houston. Are you interested in sports? Well you can find it in Houston. Houston also has great food, the rodeo, and you can find yourself at the beach in Galveston in about an hour.

If you are interested, you can find my post about day trips that you can take from Houston.

Atlanta

Atlanta, Georgia, City, Cities, single travel, travel for single black women

I’m almost afraid to put Atlanta on this list but I can’t ignore the city with the second largest Black population in the United States. There are a lot of rumors about the dating scene. They say that a good portion of the men are gay or on the down low but that shouldn’t stop Black women from getting out there are trying to shoot their shot with the available Black men.

Vacations for single Black women should be relaxing and a way to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I have been to Atlanta several times and outside of the traffic, there is a lot that the city has to offer. There are a wealth of Black universities there and the college campus is great pickings for an educated hook up or significant other. You never know.

San Diego

San Diego, California, City, Lights, Sky

Most of these cities are on the east coast so it is only right that I show the west coast a bit of love. San Diego is a city where Black men outnumber women so it is a great option for vacations for Black women. A lot of this has to do with the military bases that are in time. Who doesn’t love a man in uniform?

When I was in San Diego, there was so much to do. Not only can you spend time at the beach and soak up all the rays from the sunshine but the city has great food and a lot of activities. It is also not that far from Mexico. If you don’t find a bae in San Diego then you should be able to have a little fun down below the boarder.

Honorable Mentions:

  1. Charlotte, NC. I spent over a decade in North Carolina and I heard amazing things about the city of Charlotte. I’ve been there about 3 different times and have two good friends who live there now. I would recommend Charlotte if you are interested in breweries and the art scene.
  2. Miami, FL. Miami is great for any type of vacation that you want to take. You have the beach, beautiful people, and high levels of cultural diversity.
  3. Detroit, MI. Detroit is super affordable and I hear it is absolutely beautiful in the summer. It is also a hop, skip, and a jump from Canada if you want to take a day trip.
